Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 7 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Minister Danish Azad Ansari on Saturday accused the Congress party of reverting to its 'old strategy' of misleading the public and creating confusion amid political uproar following Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's recent allegation of rigging in the Maharashtra Assembly election held last year, and further claims of this being repeated in Bihar Assembly polls due later this year.
Speaking to ANI, Asanri stated that Gandhi's comments came after their campaigns in Bihar faced a cold response from the public, noting their declining relevance there.
He, responding to Gandhi's recent allegation, asserted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the public has shown trust in the BJP.
'As Congress leaders take to the ground in Bihar--and with Rahul Gandhi currently in the state-- they realise that the public's response has been cold. The people of Bihar are not resonating with the Congress party. This reflects a broader trend where Congress continues to lose relevance in state after state. In light of this, Congress seems to be returning to its old strategy of misleading the public to create confusion,' he stated.
'Under PM Modi's leadership, the public has expressed trust and affection. In the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, we--along with our allies--are committed to building a more developed and progressive Bihar,' Ansari added.
Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Maharashtra Assembly election held last year was 'rigged' and claimed that the same will be repeated in Bihar assembly polls due later this year.
'Maharashtra assembly elections in 2024 were a blueprint for rigging democracy. My article shows how this happened, step by step,' Gandhi said on X.
Meanwhile, Ansari extended a message of peace on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, saying, 'We extend a message of peace and brotherhood to all our fellow citizens. Eid al-Adha is a festival that symbolises sacrifice and brotherly love. Today, prayers were offered in mosques across the country for India's progress, harmony, and unity. It is the responsibility of every citizen to work together in taking our nation forward and making it prosperous, and prayers were made with that very spirit.' (ANI)
